She never thought she’d see him again.
Jeanie Cholewinski is pursuing her dream of winning a pastry chef contest that will send her to Paris to study and possibly teach. But she hadn’t counted on her daughter’s father showing up in time to give her away at her wedding. He’s here. . .and asking questions about Jeanie’s disappearance nearly thirty years ago. If she reveals the truth, she risks losing him again.
Steven Vandenburg can’t believe he’s the father of a daughter. And he’s reconnected with his first love. But when Jeanie continues moving toward a goal that doesn’t include him, he makes a decision to settle, once again, for second best.
When the past rises up and engulfs them with its secrets, can their rekindled feelings for one another survive the devastating impact? Is there really a future for them—together?

This books sounds like my cup of tea! I love baking and I'm so looking forward to reading this title. I also love the cover! I love to bake sweets! My favorites are: lemon pound cake, chocolate cake, and chocolate chip cookies! Although, I have an assortment of other things that I like to bake! At Christmas time, my son and I bake loads of cookies, that is, if I have the energy! This book sounds like a great read!
ReplyDeleteI love to bake! My favorite goodie I bake are lemon bars.
ReplyDeleteLemon bars...chocolate chip cookies...you're feeding my food fantasies! I have a confession: One of the reasons I love to describe baked goods in great detail in our stories is because I'm gluten intolerant and can't eat any of my old favorites. Back in the day, I loved making homemade bread and caramel pecan rolls, but it's all vicarious pleasure these days. I do, however, have a heavenly recipe for flourless chocolate cake!
ReplyDeleteI'd much rather bake than cook, though I'll admit, I'm culinarily challenged. :D
ReplyDeleteI make a pretty good Red Velvet Cake.
OK, I'll chime in, but I'm a true bachelor in the kitchen. I do have a couple of dishes that people love me to make: peanut butter pie, which requires no cooking at all, and berry chocolate pie, which only requires baking a pie crust. Hey, Becky. The books sounds great.
ReplyDeleteThe books does sound great. I'm not much of a baker myself, but ejoying cooking a nice dinner when time permits. Time. Now that is the real culprit in my life. Wish there were more of it...
ReplyDeleteI love secrets!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love to bake, just don't do too much of it any more except around Christmas. Then I like to get carried away and share plates of goodies.
l enjoy baking, especially muffins :)

I enjoy baking---especially during the Christmas season. When I was a kindergarten teacher, I loved doing "cooking projects" with my little students (especially making apple sauce - - YUM!). ~ This book sounds wonderful!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Patti Jo
As an added teaser, I should mention there's a recipe for Morning Glory Muffins at the back of Parting Secrets. Shredded carrot, raisins, apple, coconut, with a hint of cinnamon...amazing.
ReplyDeleteAaron, can you come up with a gluten-free version of that berry chocolate pie??
The book sounds great. I enjoy baking more than cooking--my recent specialty is Snickers cheesecake. Oh, so yummy!
ReplyDeleteSorry, Becky, but I do well to make it "healthier" by using light or fat-free Cool Whip. :)
