ABOUT THE BOOK:

Robyn is at the end of her rope.

Robyn Holland loves her work raising and training sled dogs for her family’s business, Holland Kennel, in rugged Alaska. But when her grandfather has an accident, the resulting hospital bills put a strain on the family’s finances. Will she be forced to follow her mother’s suggestion and sell the business? It would break her heart but it’s beginning to seem like her only option. Robyn turns to Rick Baker, a neighbor and veterinarian, for help as the Fire and Ice dog sled race approaches. Then some of her most valuable dogs are stolen. As they race against time to find the dogs, a spark ignites. Will they allow God’s light to illuminate the right tracks to follow for the victory He has for them?

  8. Susan's book sounds great. Interesting with the sled dogs. I don't think I've ever read one like that.
I have three dachshunds in weenie dog Heaven. Oscar Mayer Weiner, Zaccheus, and Abigail left pawprints on my heart. We now have a chocolate lab, Hershey (female). I'm a dog and cat person. We have two charcoal gray cats: Charcoal (male) and Smoky (female).

  12. The secret with cats is to get them when they're kittens. Charcoal showed up when he was tiny, barely weened. He cuddles and comes just like a dog when I call him. When I took him to get him neutered, the vet had Smoky needing a home. I took her when she was three months old. She doesn't like to be held and when you call, she gives that cat look, like I'm beneath her. She loves to sit in my lap while I write though, as long as I don't hold her there.

  13. Do I like dogs?! I would have to say I am probably one of the world's greatest dog lovers. I share my half of a queen-size bed with a chocolate lab and a blue heeler. We also have two bird dogs, but they sleep in kennels at night...... need a bigger bed. lol I am going to look for this book. I loved the movie Eight Below about sled dogs.

  14. I love dogs. I miss having one and we hope to get one for our girls someday when they are a little older. Collies are my favorite breed. Such beautiful, smart, loyal dogs! We always had one on our mini farm when I was growing up and then in high school I got one of my own to train through 4-H. Sadly he died at only 7 years old. Broke my heart. I still miss him. He was named Lad after the classic collie book, Lad: A Dog.

  15. We had a dog, half schnauzer, half terrier. And she was a terror! Bark, bark, bark, bark, bark... Her name was Buffy. She was the ideal dog for our son. LOVED to play. She has since died, and now we have a cat, Toby.

  16. JoAnne I just commented on the post asking about funny pet names about the Collie that I had when i was in Elementary school. I remember teaching him tricks and stuff that I learned from the Barbie magazine I used to get. He wasw sooo great. He died when he was 7 too...I'm still not over it either so I totally know where you are coming from. In 2008 though we got another wonderful Collie, named Coco she is absolutely the sweetest dog ever and is soooo smart! Every trick that she knows (she knows a lot) she learned in 15 minutes or less and a lot of them she learned when she was 3 months old. If you're thinking of getting a dog collies are the way to go...but I'm sure you know that LOL! Coco is really good with my 8 month old cousin...she loves him to death and he loves her.

Can you tell I love dogs??!! :-P

    XOXO~ Renee
