For Better or Worse - Excerpt

“…and the two will become one flesh. So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore, what God has joined together, let man not separate.” Mark 10:8-9

A little excerpt from For Better or Worse by Jennifer Johnson

"This is going to be the longest two weeks of my life," Harold growled as he turned the ignition.

Kelly felt his frustration to her core. "Tell me about it." She picked at a piece of lint on her slacks, begging her mind to drift to something besides their wedding. In only a matter of moments, they'd left their small town and were heading toward Wilmington. "So, where are we going tonight?"

"It's a bit of a surprise." Harold placed his hand on her knee. "Would you mind if we didn't go see a movie tonight?"

Kelly felt a smile bowing her lips. She lifted her hand to one of her silver earrings and twisted it around her fingertips. "We're not going racecar driving, are we? I'm way overdressed for that."

Harold laughed and tapped the top of the steering wheel. "No racecar driving tonight."

QUESTION FOR YOU: What's the most unusual date you've been on?

  1. I was dating a guy (before Christ)named B. We went to a party and needed some more alcoholic drinks. Up drives V, who offers to get some. B and I got in V's car, and I realize it's the car that I've seen for months, and wanted to meet him! I pretty much hit on him right then. That was my last date with B. V and I are now married!!!

  2. Can't say as I've never been on an unusual date but I would love to drive a racecar on a date! That sounds like a blast! :-)

  3. My first date was to see the Christmas lights at the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City.

I ended up married to that guy.

Still am, and very happily, too. :)

  4. Carmen, that is too funny!!! Renee, though my characters have a racecar date, it would terrify me. :) Erica, very sweet. :) I don't have any unusual dates with my hubby. He's the only guy I actually dated. :)

  5. I went cave-exploring many years ago on a date. It was a small group of us (only 3 couples) in the north Georgia mountains. I could NEVER do that now--too claustrophobic, LOL!!

  6. Instead of unusual dates, my hubby and I had an unusual courtship. We dated mostly through letters. Happily married 26 years now!
